When you will go there, you will get to see igloos, ice sculptures, snowmen set up around the area and Mayor Lewis standing in the center of a frozen lake surrounded by the fields. Talking to the Mayor will start an Ice Fishing Contest. You can take part in the contest along with Pam, Willy, and Elliot. To win the event, you must catch at least five fish.

However, The holes in the ice would be quite small. So it can be difficult to cast into them. You can try standing close to them. Remember, it is possible to catch fish outside the frozen lake but it will not be counted towards the contest.

The first time you win the contest, you will get a Magnet (increases the chance of finding treasures), a fresh and starchy Sailor’s Cap, two tackles: a Barbed Hook (makes catches more secure) and a Dressed Spinner (increases bite-rate when fishing) as a reward. From next time, the reward will be 2,000g which will not be counted as earnings. Note that, If two or more players in the multiplayer game will win the Ice Fishing Contest, all of them will be getting the reward(s).

Next Festival: Stardew Valley Night Market

After Mayor Lewis finishes with judging the contest, the Ice Festival will also end automatically.
